Emergency First Aid at Work

Emergency First Aid is the provision of immediate assistance to someone in need, whether they have suffered a minor cut or bruise, or a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. This emergency first aid training course will provide you with the necessary skills, the main underlying idea always being to preserve life, prevent the situation from worsening, and promoting recovery.

This particular first aid training course takes 1 day, and it is designed to qualify you to perform Emergency First Aid at Work. It is suitable for nominated first aiders employed in low risk environments, such as offices, and covers the provision of Fist Aid for adults only.

Employers are responsible under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (1981) for selecting which course is appropriate for them in their own workplace, but generally speaking the Emergency First Aid at Work course is for relatively low-risk environments. However, we will always be happy to put extra focus on certain topics at the request of our customers.

The first aid training course is located in Frome, Somerset.

The cost of Emergency First Aid at Work is £70 per person. If you book more than 5 spaces you can qualify for a discount – please get in touch to find out more. Each course has 8 spaces.

The Basic Life Support is the only course not officially recognised by the Health and Safety Executive. This is a popular course aimed at any member of the public or organisation. It is designed so that any person can learn basic emergency life-saving skills which could be of use in a potential life-threatening emergency.

Because this is a shorter course than the others, the only life-threatening situations it includes are Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Wounds & Bleeding (including catastrophic bleeding), and choking. The use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is also taught, and the anatomy of the heart is also covered.  The course duration is only 4 hours, and it includes plenty of hands-on practise to make students feel confident in being able to apply those skills in a live situation.
